The HSE’s Position on Stress at Work

Guidance has been published by the HSE after an increase of reports to them of stress at work. Their position is that if there are wider company issues they will investigate but they will not investigate individual complaints

The HSE has also confirmed that stress is not reportable under RIDDOR, even if there is a medical certificate stating that stress is work related . Stress cannot be reported as an over seven day event even if it is alleged the stress was caused at work

Mental health conditions are not listed in in the schedule for reportable occupational diseases

Have a safe month. Ian and the team
